Welcome

The SR 7 project is currently in the Design Phase. The proposed improvements include the widening of SR 7 from two to four lanes from Okeechobee Boulevard to 60th Street and construction of a new four lane divided facility from 60th Street to Northlake Boulevard. The project includes new bridges over the M-canal and Ibis Preserve Spillway. Refinements were made to the design to reduce the project footprint and minimize environmental impacts. Project improvements include bicycle lanes and sidewalks (south segment); shared use path (north segment); drainage; traffic signals; lighting; landscaping and design features to maintain wildlife connectivity. Roundabouts are included at 60th Street and Ibis Golf and Country Club. Noise walls are also included at Ibis Golf and Country Club and Baywinds Residential Community.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) conducted a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to evaluate an expansion of SR 7 between SR 704 (Okeechobee Boulevard) and Northlake Boulevard. The purpose of this study, completed in February 2015, was to develop several viable alternatives and evaluate each one for potential impacts on the human environment, including social, cultural, economic and environmental concerns. Public input played a vital role throughout the process. The final PD&E Study documents are available on the Documents & Publications page.

Design Virtual Public Information Workshops were held on Thursday, January 28. Use the links below to view recordings of the workshops.
